Harry Potter fans pay tribute as Dumbledore star Sir Michael Gambon dies aged 82

Harry Potter fans have flooded social media with tributes to late Dumbledore star Sir Michael Gambon/ A statement issued by his publicist said the Irish actor died peacefully in hospital aged 82.
On behalf of his wife Lady Gambon and son Fergus Gambon, publicist Clair Dobbs said: "We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon. Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside, following a bout of pneumonia.
"We ask that you respect our privacy at this painful time and thank you for your messages of support and love." Gambon first appeared in the blockbuster franchise in the third Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
He went on to play as Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts school, in all the films that followed, playing as the iconic wizard in six of the eight flicks. He is also known for playing French detective Jules Maigret in ITV series Maigret, and for starring in the BBC series, The Singing Detective.
Tributes have been pouring on across social media as fans across the world pay tribute to the actor. On X, formerly known as Twitter, Kierandoody wrote: "Not Dumbledore. RIP Sir Michael Gambon. Millennials are in mourning."
Crowndefensx typed: "Michael Gambon will live on in the hearts and the memories of every single person whose childhoods he lit up by his brilliant portrayal of Albus Dumbledore." Quoting the film, they added: "You think the dead we loved truly ever leave us? You think we don't recall them more clearly in times of great trouble?"
