Winter is officially over - but you're still going to need your big coat in Greater Manchester. The region is gearing up for the first weekend of spring since the March equinox.
And the week has reached a pleasant end, with sunny spells across Greater Manchester so far today (March 22). Temperatures are set to hit 10C in some areas today and on Sunday.
But across Greater Manchester, conditions will feel rather chilly for much of the weekend. The Met Office is forecasting temperatures to plummet to as low as 2C in some areas tonight.

Saturday is also expected to be fairly cool throughout the day. Tomorrow will see temperatures no higher than 8C in Greater Manchester, according to the Met Office.
In some areas, the mercury will only hit 6C, while periods of rain are expected across all of Greater Manchester. It comes as the Met Office issued an update yesterday on the chances of snow hitting the country, as colder air sweeps in.
The latest weather maps suggest some flurries of snow could fall on higher ground in the Peak District and Pennines in the early hours of Saturday morning, to the east of Manchester. Here's the full weekend forecast from the Met Office for the region, borough-by-borough.
