A cold snap is set to envelop Greater Manchester this weekend, with some forecasters predicting temperatures dropping below zero.
The cold spell starts in earnest tomorrow (November 24), with the mercury peaking at 7C. The BBC Weather service is forecasting lows of -2C on Friday.
The Met Office’s Friday outlook is a bit more optimistic, with sunny spells breaking up the lows of 0C it expects on Friday evening.

Saturday is set to get colder still, with the BBC forecasting highs of 5C and lows of -1, with the Met Office expecting highs of 4C and lows of 0C. Both services believe there will be sunny spells in the day, and it’s set to stay dry on Saturday.
Things warm and wetten up on Sunday, however. Experts from both services predict highs of 6C, with lows of 4C according to the BBC and 2C, the Met Office predicts.
Both are expecting rain in the evening, with cloudy spells throughout the day. Although there is not a huge variation in the forecast across the city-region, the Met Office predicts more northern areas of Greater Manchester will see slightly worse weather, in the form of lower temperatures.
