Phillip Schofield’s exit from This Morning, his secret affair with a runner and Holly Willoughby’s emotional return to the ITV show. However, Glee star Jane Lynch chiming in definitely wasn’t on our Bingo card. On Monday June 5, Willoughby, 42, returned to the programme for the first time since her ex-co-host’s departure, saying that she felt ‘shaken’ and ‘let down’ in her statement and asking viewers: ‘Firstly, are you ok? I hope so.
’She continued: ‘You me and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process, and it’s equally hard to see the toll that it’s taken on their own mental health. ’At the time of writing, the clip of Willoughby’s speech shared by ITV on Twitter has received almost 11,000 likes and been watched 17million times.
Among those watching it was Lynch, 62, who played menacing cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester on musical TV series Glee from 2009 to 2015. ‘She’s worried about the toll this whole thing has taken on Philip Schofield’s mental health,’ tweeted the actor, who has 1. 7m followers on Twitter.
Several of her fans were left utterly bemused that she was sharing her views on the situation… plus the fact that she even knew who Willoughby and Schofield were. ‘Blows my mind how this story has reached @janemarielynch,’ one person commented in response. ‘Omg this story has got so big celebrities in America are retweeting it,’ another astounded individual wrote.
'Hi there, good morning. Josie, thank you for being here. Right, deep breath.
