Former EastEnders star Nick Berry looked unrecognisable from his soap days after stepping back from acting to become a stay-at-home dad two decades ago.The former actor, now 60, was snapped as he headed out to his local bakery to pick up some sweet treats. Looking worlds away from his EastEnders role of heartthrob Simon Wicks and Heartbeat's Nick Rowan, he sported a blue T-shirt and jeans. He had also grown out his beard and his brunette locks had turned a silvery grey.
Having headed out in the sunny weather, Nick switched between some black sunglasses and his regular specs. Nick stepped away from acting in 2003 after deciding to focus on his family. He briefly returned to EastEnders back in 2012, as he returned for the funeral of his on-screen mother Pat Butcher, who was played by actress Pam St Clement.
During his first stint on the soap, Nick became romantically involved with co-star Gillian Taylforth, who played Kathy Beale. Following the pair's split, Nick embarked on a relationship with now-wife Rachel Robertson. The pair married in 1994, and welcomed their sons Louis and Finley, in 1995 and 1998 respectively. The former soap star is thought to have amassed the huge sum of £5million during his time in the spotlight. Following his decision to quit acting, Nick ran his own production company called Valentine Productions, from which he resigned in 2019.
In 2011, Nick opened up to the Daily Mail about his decision to quit fame.Telling the outlet: "I chose to be a stay-at-home dad and have loved it. always said that when the boys were teenagers I could go back, but the longer you don't do something the harder it is to do it, and I haven't really missed it. "While I'd never say never, I'm genuinely happy as I am.The job
