Mark Fensome, 43, was jailed on Friday (August 18) for causing the death of Lily Morris by dangerous driving. He had been drinking vodka with work colleagues and was over the legal drink drive limit when his Land Rover mounted the pavement in Coleridge Road, Oldham.
After crashing into Lily and her friend, who were on their way to a nearby chippy, Fensome drove away from the scene. He was arrested at his home nearby minutes later and was said to be 'clearly intoxicated' and unsteady on his feet.

He was jailed for nine years at Minshull Street Crown Court on Friday. The court heard that on December 18, 2021, Fensome had been drinking vodka with colleagues to celebrate finishing work for Christmas.
He was one-and-a-half times over the legal drink drive limit when he decided to get behind the wheel of his Land Rover shortly before 5pm.
Dash cam footage played to the court showed Fensome driving 'aggressively and erratically' along Ripponden Road just moments before the crash. At one point, the Land Rover could be seen driving immediately behind a vehicle before overtaking it.
Fensome then broke heavily before turning into Coleridge Road - a residential street with speed bumps and a 20mph speed limit - where he continued to drive dangerously. At the same time, Lily and her friend were walking along the pavement on their way to the chippy.
While attempting to negotiate a left-hand bend at speed, the Land Rover crossed onto the wrong side of the road and mounted the kerb.
Both girls were hit by the vehicle, which then smashed into a lamppost

Based on the 1968 photo and interview book by Danny Lyon, “The Bikeriders” tells a fictional story inspired by a Midwestern motorcycle club, seen through its members’ lives over a decade.
