One of Emmerdale's longest lasting friendships in recent times has been thrown into turmoil. And fans of the soap have been very clear on whose side they are taking.
Emmerdale aired some sad scenes for Paddy and Marlon Dingle in Monday's episode (August 21). The episode ended with a heated exchange between the friends, which saw Marlon verbally lashing out at Paddy.
Paddy upsets Marlon as he tried to support Mary Goskirk, who's struggling with her confidence after what happened with con artist Faye Helders. Mary has recently told her daughter Rhona and son-in-law Marlon that she's back on the dating scene and ready to move on from the Faye incident.

But a row erupts between the duo after Marlon feels snubbed by Paddy and makes his feelings clear.
On Twitter, Emmerdale fans were quick to jump in and defend Paddy and thought Marlon was 'harsh' and 'overreacting.' Twitter user @DavidHe47935675 posted: "Calm down Marlon."
While @teenamassam wrote: "Bit harsh from Marlon." @craggsy82 posted: "We take it Marlon has taken over from Bob in the most overreaction scene EVER. wow."
Another, @RyanTheSoapking, had high hopes of a reconciliation between the friends, saying: "That isn't the end of Paddy and Marlon - they forgive each
