After weeks of uncertainty, one Emmerdale couple was finally given the happy ending they deserved when Matty Barton and Amy Wyatt successfully walked down the aisle and tied the knot. Yet while the wedding did get off to a bumpy start after Amy’s mum Kerry dropped the bombshell that she couldn’t afford to pay for the lavish bash - it was actually Amy’s dress that had many fans talking.
For her upcoming nuptials, Amy had opted for a twist on a traditional wedding gown, and chosen to wear a chic ruched ivory toned wedding dress with a hi-lo skirt, straight cut bodice and her trusty Doc Martens to ensure a day of comfort on her feet. Although the dress did accurately sum up Amy’s own personality and tendency to do things her own way, fans at home couldn’t help but comment that it looked more and more like a wardrobe malfunction than a stunning outfit.
Taking to social media to weigh in on the dress, several fans didn’t hold back as they shared their thoughts, with many of them all saying the same thing: it looked like it was tucked into her knickers! One fan wrote: “Love Amy's Dr Martens! Not keen on the dress. Looks like it's tucked into her knickers.” A second fan echoed the thought adding: “Is the front of her dress caught in her knickers?” Meanwhile a third viewer commented: “Why’s her dress tucked in her knickers?” Several fans also couldn’t understand why the young bride had opted for such a dated design, with one fan even arguing it harkened back to the 1980s! “Did Amy transport that meringue dress from the 80s,” penned one fan.
