As the drama continues to hot up in Albert Square, with Nish Panesar and Kat Slater’s blossoming romance soon taking a far darker turn, actor Navin Chowdhry has opened up about what fans can expect from his character in the coming days - and how his own experiences of domestic abuse have tied into what we seen on screen. As regular viewers will know, Nish and Kat recently decided to embark on a new romance together.
However as per his own admission to daughter-in-law Priya, it was a romance that consisted of about "90 percent usefulness and 10 percent attraction" - a dangerous ratio that hinted at the businessman’s intentions towards his new flame. Opening up about how things are progressing between Nish and Kat, Navin admitted: “Nish is very pleased with the way this relationship is developing for him.
It is going according to plan until later on in the week when the goal post shifts. He is very close to it being a triumph for him, and then right at the last minute, things change for him as suddenly he’s faced with another formidable opponent.” Yet as things progress between the pair, they also soon escalate too.

Opening up about his experience with domestic violence, the actor explained: “My mum ran a charity for over twenty years for women of domestic abuse, so my mum spent her life protecting people like Kat from people like Nish. "So these are stories and human beings that I guess I grew up with what with my mum having to be on call and saving people like this.
