Dustin Lance Black appeared in court in London on Tuesday (August 8), but the day did not go as planned.
The 49-year-old Oscar-winning screenwriter, who is married to Olympic diver Tom Daley, is facing common assault charges after a nightclub incident with UK television personality Teddy Edwardes.
Teddy says Dustin threw a drink over her head and she reciprocated by giving him “a little tap on the head.” According to Variety, Teddy actually posted about the incident on social media, allegedly writing, “I went out for a couple of quiet drinks with my friends last night, nothing crazy, and I bumped into Tom Daley and his husband in Soho, who… pretty much unprovoked he threw an entire drink over me in Freedom. I didn’t have a drink to throw back so I did choose violence, it wasn’t that violent, he got a little tap on the back of the head.”
In September 2022, Dustin revealed he had suffered a “serious” head injury and fans believe this is the incident he’s referring to.
