As reported by Belfast Live, on those days the cute pooch gets to enjoy cuddles and pats from the workers busy on their rounds.
Maddie joined the Fiddis family as a pup and now, aged 15 months, has become a firm favourite in her neighbourhood of Castlereagh in Belfast.
Her owners, Ian, Ruth, Katelin and Josh, are besotted with Maddie - and when they created an Instagram page for her she quickly acquired more than a million other fans too.
Katelin, 26, said: "She is just the best girl. For years Josh and I has been pestering our parents to allow us to have another dog after we lost our first Retriever, Kelly, 15 years ago.
"But Dad resisted the most and then weeks after I left home, Maddie joined the family. She just loves to love people, and say hi and get cuddles. She is a bundle of love and she really does make life better for a lot of people.
"It's fair to say not every dog is so enthusiastic about greeting the postmen and women and the binmen, but Maddie loves everyone and anyone who is passing is offered her attention.
"There is always someone watching her when she's at her welcoming work and it gives us real joy to see people's faces as they say hello to her. She's an amazing dog and we are so lucky to have her.
