Dave Myers shared a seven-word message with fans in a new episode of The Hairy Bikers Go West, following his devastating cancer battle.
The star has returned to screens in the new series alongside co-star Si King. Dave, 66, and Si, 57, explore the west coast of the UK in the BBC show, which was filmed after Dave finished his cancer treatment. He was first diagnosed back in May 2022 and took a break from filming while he underwent 18 months of gruelling treatment.
In the latest episode of The Hairy Bikers Go West, Si and Dave headed to Lancashire together.
The location had an emotional connection for Dave, as he was born in the county. Towards the end of the episode, Dave and Si reflected on their travels.
The duo both shared emotional statements as they spoke about their latest venture. "It’s great getting back here with my best mate.
We didn’t think 18 months ago that we’d be on the bikes again wandering around Dave’s backyard and it's wonderful that we are," Si said. Meanwhile, Dave beamed and added: "It’s been glorious.
The motorcycling's been glorious. What can I say.
It feels so good to be alive!" Si has praised co-star Dave for making the new series special following his return to work. He said: "It's a series that we will always remember, not that we won’t remember others. We are very privileged to do what we do and I think this one was particularly special in general because of Dave’s health and his sheer and utter determination and love for what he does.
