A cyclist was seriously injured after a collision with a car close to a recycling centre, police have revealed.
Greater Manchester Police said the cyclist sustained 'potentially life-changing injuries' and was taken to hospital, where they remained on Saturday.
The force's roads policing unit is investigating and today issued an appeal to the public for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. The crash happened on Longley Lane in Sharston, Wythenshawe, at around 6pm on Friday night.

The car involved, which hasn't been further described, was travelling along Longley Lane near Sharston Recycling Centre at the time, GMP added. The driver of the car remained at the scene afterwards.
In a statement, the force said: "Shortly before 6pm yesterday (Friday 1 March) a car was travelling on Longley Lane, Sharston near to the Sharston Recycling Centre.
"The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and assisted officers with enquiries. The cyclist suffered potentially life-changing injuries and was taken to hospital.
"GMP's Roads Policing Unit is appealing for any information and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to come forward and assist their investigation.
"Details can be passed on to police by calling 0161 856 3835, quoting incident number 2814 of 01/03/2024. Information can also be shared on our website: www.gmp.police.uk. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111." No age or sex of the cyclist has been revealed.
