The inquest into the death of a woman who ran into the street on fire has been adjourned to allow for the CPS to further review the case after they were handed body worn footage.
Nosheen Akhtar, 31, suffered horrific burns after being set alight at her home in East Street, Bury, on July 23, 2021.
Earlier this year, an inquest at Rochdale Coroner’s Court heard that after running into the street ablaze, Ms Akhtar told paramedics that 'her husband threw liquid on her' before 'setting her on fire'. Other witnesses at the scene have claimed that Ms Akhtar told them she had set herself on fire.

At the resumed hearing today (July 17), Ms Judge said she had received the enhanced footage, along with transcripts, from Greater Manchester Police.
Citing the agreement between the Crown Prosecution Service, the National Police Chief’s Council, the Chief Coroner and the Coroner’s Society of England and Wales (2016), she said enquiries were ongoing regarding a review into the case following receipt of the body worn footage.
Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor, Joanne Cunliffe, told the hearing: “Given there is information the Crown Prosecution Service have not seen, we do apply for the proceedings to be adjourned so those
