Coronation Street fans have finally found out the truth at the end of a thrilling week of episodes. Super Soap Week came to a climax tonight as stunned viewers saw evil killer Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) leave the show in a body bag.
But they were thrilled at the discovery that cabby Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) could still be alive. A final showdown with Jenny led to Stephen holding her hostage during his bid to escape before being mown down in a car driven by Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne), moments after he’d set Jenny free.
DS Swain (Vicky Myers) now has to step up her investigation into the goings on in Weatherfield, wondering if the crash was in fact a premeditated killing by Peter. Fans were floored by the ending.
