Coronation Street actress Rebecca Ryan has captivated ITV soap fans thanks to her brilliant portrayal of scheming Lydia Chambers, who has been plotting to bring down Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson). But Corrie fans know that the 30 year old will soon be leaving the famous cobbles, as her gripping storyline comes to a close after four months and she waves goodbye to bunny boiler Lydia. Now, in an exclusive interview with OK! Rebecca has broken her silence on what she’d like to do next, revealing her ultimate dream is to land a role in a period drama like Netflix’s mega hit series Bridgerton.

Rebecca, who starred in the soap alongside her brother Jack James Ryan, added: “Something like that would be incredible. I’d love all of that, it would be amazing.” However, Rebecca said it’s not just the thought of donning a corset that has her excited for her inevitably bright future.
Opening up about her other career aspirations, the soap star said it would be a dream come true to land a part in a “gritty” drama. She continued: “I also love all the big dramas, like Succession. I think I’ll go as far as to say it’s the best thing I’ve ever watched.
