Comedian Darren Harriott and Love Island: After Sun favourite is the latest celebrity hoping to skate to victory after officially revealing he will be competing in the upcoming series of Dancing on Ice. The 34 year old star, shared the news with Trisha Goddard on Talk TV – but aside from being excited about appearing on the show, Darren also admitted he was more than a little nervous about taking to the ice.
“I’ve got giant feet, I don't skate and I can't dance! My family has already made bets – they’re making bets that I’ll fall on the first episode,” he told Trisha.The news was also later confirmed on the official Dancing on Ice Twitter account, which wrote: "Comedian @DarrenHarriott hopes to keep the laughs going on the ice #DancingOnIce @ITV". Best known for his stand-up work on the BBC Radio 4 series, Darren Harriott’s Black Label, the comedian is no stranger to competition after being nominated for the Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017, and again for Best Show Award in 2019.
He may also be familiar to Love Island fans for his frequent appearances alongside Laura Whitmore on the show’s hit spinoff show, Love Island: Aftersun. Hoping to take home the trophy in this year’s competition, Darren is the eighth celebrity announced so far, joining actress and DJ Patsy Palmer, football legend John Fashanu, Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson, Coronation Street’s Mollie Gallagher, Drag Queen and TV personality The Vivienne, and TV personality Joey Essex.

The final contestant for ITV's Dancing on Ice line-up has been revealed as The Wanted's Siva Kaneswaran. Appearing live this morning on Good Morning Britain, Siva quipped that he asked his manager if it was too late to pull out, but went on to say that he was "overall excited". Siva, 33, added that he's that much of a newcomer to the ice that he's been using the training penguins – typically used by children.

Appearing live on Lorraine this morning, Michelle, 43, told the host: "I've always wanted to do it and had my name in the mix. But I knew I would never have been able to complete anything because of the way my body was 18 months ago." She added: "I'm truly grateful I've got it this year and I'm a lot stronger.
