Joe Otterson TV Reporter “Cobra Kai” Season 6 is getting a super-sized sendoff. As part of the Netflix Is A Joke Festival, the streaming giant has announced that the final season of the popular series will consist of 15 episodes, with the season to be split into three five-episode blocks. The first five episodes will premiere on July 18, while the second batch of five will premiere on Nov.
28. The final five episodes of the series will premiere in 2025 with an exact date to be announced at a later date. Netflix has also released a teaser trailer and for the new season, which can be seen below.
The final season details what happens now that (SPOILER ALERT) Cobra Kai has been driven out of the Valley in the Season 5 finale. “Our senseis and students must decide if and how they will compete in the Sekai Taikai — the world championships of karate,” per the official description. Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Martin Kove, and Yuji Okumoto all reprise their roles from the “Karate Kid” film franchise in the series.
It also stars Xolo Maridueña, Jacob Bertrand, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan, Peyton List, Gianni DeCenzo, Courtney Henggeler, Vanessa Rubio, Dallas Dupree Young, Alicia Hannah-Kim, Griffin Santopietro, and Oona O’Brien. The series was developed by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who serve as executive producers via Counterbalance Entertainment. Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett executive produce for Westbrook Entertainment along with Susan Ekins in association with Sony Pictures Television.
