Christine Lampard, who stepped in to host the Lorraine show, was left red-faced after her co-star made an X-rated comment during a live health segment.
The presenter, 45, was so taken aback by the comment she was lost for words and was left giggling awkwardly. The hilarious moment took place during the Lorraine show on Tuesday, 9 April when GP Dr Amir Khan sat down with Christine to talk about the benefits of eating beetroot.
As Christine agreed to loving beetroot, the expert shared: "It is really good for you - not only is it full of antioxidants, which are anti-inflammatory, it also contains something called nitrates. "Now, nitrates are converted to nitric oxide by our body and the bacteria in our body, and that helps widen our blood vessels and lower our blood pressure.
"And that is really good for our heart health, but also the blood flow to our brain. It can reduce our risk of dementia as well, so really, really good.
You have to eat it continuously to get those effects every single day because they're short-lived effects." Dr Khan then added: "But, actually, the Romans use it to increase their sex drive. "And there's a little bit, not much evidence, that it actually improves blood flow to the penis, helping with erections as well, Christine." The revelation came as a surprise to Christine who looked thoroughly bewildered.
The GP then proceeded to candidly put the beetroot in his pocket as he said: "I'll be taking them, thank you very much." He proceeded into a giggle before Christine found the words to say: "I didn't know you were going to say it".
