Chris Hemsworth has already been a part of several epic franchises, but as an Australian, he might be the most excited to be part of !The star is set to appear in, the upcoming film that serves as both a prequel and sequel to 2015's , which stars Anya Taylor-Joy as the titular character, Imperator Furiosa, which was originated by Charlize Theron in «The young kid in me who grew up on watching and those films — that franchise has been running for 45 years,» he marveled. «To be involved in it in any shape or form was a dream, working with George Miller was the most incredible experience I've ever had.»However, there wasn't much more that Hemsworth could say about the role, noting, «It's a bit like working in the Marvel films… I can't give you nothing.»What he can talk about is the sequel to his high-octane Netflix thriller, in which Hemsworth stars as mercenary-for-hire Tyler Rake, who gets sent on a harrowing new mission that included plenty of death-defying stunts, many of which Hemsworth performed himself.«Everything that Sam Hargrave, our director, pitched me… I had both the enthusiasm and the excitement on one side of the brain and the fear and the hesitation on the other,» he said of the filming experience.

Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter Chris Hemsworth dangles from skyscrapers, dodges a fiery helicopter and survives several bludgeons to the head as former black ops mercenary Tyler Rake in Netflix’s blockbuster sequel “Extraction 2.” Now, onlookers can feel (literally!) the sweat that drips from Hemsworth’s chiseled face during those unrelenting, death-defying sequences through interactive billboards in New York City and Los Angeles. It’s all part of Netflix’s unconventional marketing strategy for the film, one that’s designed to make viewers at home feel like they are part of the action. Directed by Sam Hargrave, “Extraction 2” picks up as Tyler Rake, back from the brink of death, embarks on a risky mission to save the imprisoned family of a ruthless gangster.
Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky may have their hands full as parents of three, but their love for each other has withstood the test of time.
Extraction 2 dropped on Netflix last week, with even more action and impressive fighting sequences than the original. Fans who've already watched it have all been hoping for the same thing.
Being one of the most famous people in the world has its pros and cons. Bryan Cranston recently revealed plans are in motion to leave Hollywood behind for a quieter life in France, and Marvel star Tom Holland "disappeared" after filming his latest show. And Chris Hemsworth stepped back from his superhero life on screen to focus on family after a shocking diagnosis.

Asked who would win in a fight between the two, he told Dexerto: “I love that conversation.
Tyler Rake is coming back!

Chris Hemsworth has said that he doesn’t want to continue playing Thor until people are “exhausted” and “roll their eyes”.The Australian actor has played the God Of Thunder in four solo films and nine Marvel movies altogether: Thor (2011), Thor: The Dark World (2013), Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022).However, he’s cast some doubt about whether he would be open to reprising the role again. “I’ve got to be careful how I word that because I have no idea what’s happening in the next phase,” Hemsworth told Entertainment Weekly.“There’s always conversations, like with Extraction. Before anything is official, people are throwing around ideas.
“Extraction 2” pushed Chris Hemsworth right to the limit.
Chris Hemsworth is one of the most bankable Hollywood stars. As he premieres his new Netflix movie, “Extraction 2,” Hemsworth has been on a press tour with stops all over the world, where he discussed his work and his career. Courtney Howard A funny thing happened during our worldwide lockdown in 2020. With theaters shuttered, our immediate movie-going futures looking bleak and escapist entertainment becoming a therapeutic necessity, along came the rise of The Streaming Service Blockbuster — most notably “Extraction.” Stuntman-turned-director Sam Hargrave’s muscular albeit convoluted actioner, centered on a mercenary sent to rescue the kidnapped son of a crime lord, was handed a captive audience. All the folks at home made it a worldwide sensation for Netflix, and it continues to tear up the charts as their seventh most popular film ever (according to their internal, recently-released metrics). Three years later and armed with a far better, bloody and bruising quest for the laconic hero, Hargrave, star Chris Hemsworth and screenwriter Joe Russo return to the burgeoning franchise with “Extraction 2”. (The graphic novel “Ciudad,” upon which the first film was based, was written by Ande Parks from a story by Parks and the Russo brothers.) The filmmakers’ renewed vigor is our reward as, similar to its unfussy title, this sequel deals in clean-lined action and suspense, removing much of the excessive weight that bogged down the original. As its compelling lead character cuts through his personal strife whilst helping another family find the sense of freedom he too seeks, a new trail is blazed that recenters the series on bone-crunching brutality and bravado.
Extraction 2 star Chris Hemsworth is not only charming – and PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive! – he is also a talented actor, doting husband, and loving father to his three children: daughter, India Rose, and twin sons, Sasha and Tristan.
Extraction 2” comes in, with the director (also a stuntman and choreographer, though not on this film) returning after 2020’s first “Extraction,” a film (reportedly) received so well by the audiences that the filmmakers changed its ending and made a survivor out of its mercenary (anti)hero, Tyler Rake.Written by Joe Russo from a story by him, Anthony Russo and Ande Parks (also the creator of the source graphic novel, “Ciudad”), “Extraction 2” feels meatier in its action-packed set pieces than its predecessor, with Chris Hemsworth’s approachable and brawny Rake giving puppy avenger John Wick a genuine run for his money when it comes to high-kicks and knockouts. (Speaking of puppies, let’s not forget to mention that Rake’s sweet dog and pet chickens make it through this new mayhem in one piece.)All that said, “Extraction 2” largely skipping theaters for a quick sprint to streaming feels like a massively missed opportunity for Netflix.
It’s no death-defying leap to state that we are currently in the middle of a blockbuster action revolution, in which former stunt performers and coordinators-turned-feature-directors have reminded us why we love explosive scenes, sharply executed fights, and over-the-top brawn. Although movie stars still help sell in these projects (often by boasting how much they do their own stunts), it’s the filmmakers who are now the real ass-kickers.
