Zack Sharf Digital News Director Ana de Armas is gearing up to host “Saturday Night Live” for the first time, but why hasn’t her “Ghosted” co-star Chris Evans ever led the charge at Studio 8H? In a new interview with ET Canada, Evans admitted that he’s avoided hosting “Saturday Night Live” because the thought makes him so terrified. Perhaps it has something to do with his close friends telling him he’s not very funny over the years. “Well, now a cameo I can handle. I’ve avoided hosting ‘SNL’ like the plague for years now just because I’m so scared. It’s terrifying to me,” Evans said. “To me, it would just be one of those things that every single night I would wake up in a cold sweat. A cameo sounds great, that’s perfect. In and out… get your toes wet. But hosting, I tip my hat to her. [Ana is] going to be amazing. But it would provide a lot of sleepless nights for me.”
“I’m not a funny person,” Evans later said. “Maybe I only feel that because I have very, very funny friends who once told me I’m not a funny person. I just know how I would feel… it would just be an everyday anxiety, constant regret. Why did I do this? I could have been comfortable at my house, in my bed, not worrying about this.” “Ghosted” marks the third movie collaboration between Evans and de Armas following “Knives Out” and “The Grey Man.” In their new film, which is backed by Apple, Evans plays a lovelorn man who has the best date of his life with de Armas’ character. When she stops answering his texts after their first night together, Evans’ character heads abroad to track her down and soon discovers she’s actually a CIA agent. Explosion action ensues. “Ghosted” streams April 21 on Apple TV+.

Chris Evans used his friendship with Ana de Armas to recruit her for their movie 'Ghosted' after Scarlett Johansson dropped out. Chris and Ana star in the new Apple TV Plus action movie but director Dexter Fletcher has revealed Scarlett had originally been cast to play the female lead partly because of her longtime friendship with the actor - and when she had scheduling issues, Chris had to bring in another of his female pals. Fletcher told The Hollywood Reporter: "I was lucky enough to get on well with Chris and meet him, and he was like: 'Look, Scarlett is a great friend.
Chris Evans shares the screen with Ana De Armas in his new movie Ghosted, but it also provided the opportunity for him to link up with some old co-stars again.
Following their grand Marvel success, filmmaking pair the Russo Brothers have irked many moviegoing audiences, filmmakers, journalists, and very-online social media audiences. Like James Cameron before them and his brand of smug irritation, their success has seemingly inflated an arrogance in them, and or, their epic box office accomplishments have made the media hang on to their every word and prop it up as something worth quoting (and we’re guilty of this too).
Chris Evans has revealed that hosting Saturday Night Live would immediately give him “anxiety” and that he has “avoided” the opportunity.During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor was alongside his co-star Ana de Armas discussing their new film Ghosted. The conversation was introduced as the Blonde actress shared that she would be hosting SNL herself. When Evans was asked about a potential future appearance on the comedy sketch series, the Captain America actor said he would much rather make a small cameo than host the show.“Well, now a cameo I can handle,” Evans replied.
ghosts; people (including romantic interests) we have abruptly stopped responding to hoping they’d just disappear without a confrontation. In actor-turned-director Dexter Fletcher’s spy rom-com “Ghosted”—a cookie-cutter but adequately fun flick that could’ve used some sharpening up on the page—Sadie Rhodes (Ana de Armas) has countless ghosts in her past, and not just the romantic kind. Posing as an art curator but working as a deadly and powerful CIA spy, Sadie simply doesn’t have the time to keep those ghosts alive and well.
Ghosted is an over-caffeinated action comedy romance that tries too hard to be too many things, starting out as a sweet budding rom-com before drastically morphing into a violent international spy-chase movie anchored by a constantly bickering couple. This is one of those Hollywood movies that rarely slows down to breathe, throwing everything at the wall and just hoping some of it sticks.
Michaela Zee editor Chris Evans saved the world (and even the universe) multiple times as Captain America. But in his latest Apple TV+ action film “Ghosted,” it’s Ana de Armas who’s doing the rescuing. “It was great. I mean, we’ve all seen Ana be badass; she was so good in [‘No Time to Die’],” Evans told Variety at the New York premiere of “Ghosted” on Tuesday night. “It was nice to be the damsel in distress. It was nice to need saving — primarily because I didn’t have to sweat during the action sequences.” Directed by Dexter Fletcher (“Rocketman,” “Eddie the Eagle”), “Ghosted” follows hopelessly romantic Cole (Evans), who falls head over heels for the enigmatic Sadie (de Armas). When Sadie seemingly ghosts him, Cole follows her to London as a romantic gesture, only to discover that the girl of his dreams is a CIA agent on assignment.

Chris Evans, there's one component that is key to making it work — finding the right place to converse.Evans walked the red carpet at the premiere of his new film at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York City on Tuesday, and — inspired by the rom-com premise of his new film — he reflected on where he feels is a perfect place for a first date.«Anywhere where you can just chat,» Evans said, simply. «Anywhere where you can just have a good conversation.»In his new action rom-com, Chris Evans plays Cole Riggan, a man who has an instant connection with a woman name Sadie (Ana de Armas) on a first date, only to get — as the title suggests — ghosted by her right after.Throwing caution to the wind, Cole sets off on an international adventure in search of love and flies off to London to try and get a second date — only to discover that she's actually a secret agent, and they get wrapped up in a gun-blazing, globe-trotting thrill ride. When asked about his character's decision to travel thousands of miles to find a girl he only went on one date with, Evans laughingly admitted, «I mean, that's a bit much.»«He really had a connection, and he thought it was something, so I understand the reason.

It's too much pressure,» Evans added, seemingly fazed by the very idea of trying his hand at it.«If you keep saying that, I’m gonna [start to] second guess,» de Armas joked. «He’s making me [nervous].»Despite Evans inadvertently instilling some trepidation, de Armas says she's really excited about the honor and the opportunity.«You know, I'll do the best I can.
