Anybody who has tried to rent a flat in Manchester in recent years will know just how difficult it can be. Competition to find a rental apartment is more fierce than ever thanks to high demand and a considerably low supply.
As a result of this, rent costs in the city centre are now at an all time high with the average rent per month now £978 - which has gone up by more than 14 percent in the last year alone.
It is now even less affordable to rent in Manchester than it is in some parts of Greater London, new figures have revealed, as on average people in Manchester are spending around 44 percent of their income on rent.

With little sign of demand for rental properties slowing down, we've found the cheapest one-bed flats that are currently up for grabs across Manchester.
These apartments are all priced at much less than the average - but you'll need to be quick if you want to secure one.
