Luke Shaw believes Manchester United's impressive fitness levels in their win against Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final suggests the players did not give enough against Sevilla.
Erik ten Hag was angry and disappointed at the manner in which United exited the Europa League against Sevilla on Thursday night, which meant a response against Brighton was required, but the game promised to be a challenge.
Brighton have enjoyed an excellent season and they proved difficult opponents throughout the match at Wembley. The Seagulls created their share of chances, although United also had their moments around the box without finding the net.

However, neither side could find a breakthrough and extra time soon followed, before penalties were eventually required. The shootout progressed to sudden death and Victor Lindelof was the player who converted from the spot to win the game.
Rather impressively, United converted all seven of their penalties and Shaw reflected on the win with MUTV after the shootout.
The defender was visibly delighted with the win but also hinted the player didn't give enough against Sevilla.
"I think I'd have rather been in the first half of the penalty takers," he said. "It's never nice waiting and waiting, knowing your time is soon. I was confident anyways, if I had to step up, I thought I'd score, but luckily enough, Victor [Lindelof] put it away.
"He won it for us. We've practised them a lot in training and Victor has a beautiful technique. When he was stepping up, I was confident he wouldn't miss. I think so [fitness levels good] and maybe that shows on Thursday night we didn't do enough.
