John Chambers is expected to die behind bars after he admitted to crimes relating to the sexual abuse of a minor.
The shamed former Paper Lace guitarist played with the Nottingham chart toppers in the mid-80s was sentenced to 10-and-a-half years, reports the Mirror.
The disgraced former star pleaded guilty to eight charges of indecent assault after being accused of using alcohol and Chinese takeaways in order to groom an underage boy into being sexually assaulted.
The court also heard that the guitarist used the catchphrase “this is good clean fun” whilst he explained his actions to the minor.
On Tuesday, Chambers explained to the court he would "die a lonely man in prison" after he pleaded guilty to his crimes.
Prosecutor Liz Muir told the court that Chambers "used his connection with Paper Lace to seduce [his victim]” who was aware of the ’80s band. She also claimed the victim was “starstruck” by Chambers.
She explained that the victim "was given alcohol and Chinese takeaways - all things he would never have in his home environment”.
The court also heard from the victim himself - who for legal reasons cannot be identified.
He told the court that Chambers touched him while he "lay like a brick as it was going on", and had afterwards asked Chambers "if that made him gay?"
Chambers is said to have laughed off the question and told his victim "this is good clean fun".
A statement from the victim was read out in court which explained: "I couldn't escape my thoughts and my own mind.”
The victim also explained the sexual abuse is "not clean" and it has ruined his life. The victim was also abused by Chambers's former Paper Lace roadie and former boyfriend Andrew Polkey.
