Geordie Shore's Marnie Simpson has finally spoken out about her fierce fall-out with Charlotte Crosby. Marnie, 31, insists there's no chance of the two making up and has explained why she quit. While filming their latest 24th series in Cyprus, Marnie and Charlotte started a huge argument, leading to rumours that Charlotte would leave the show.
The disagreement kicked off over something as silly as cereal left on a child's high chair but spiralled out of control. Fellow castmate Holly Hagan-Bylth said the villa vibe helped fan the flames. Now, chatting to the Mirror, it seems Marnie, who tied the knot with sweetheart Casey Johnson last March, isn't in a hurry to be besties with Charlotte again, to protect her own peace of mind.
Asked if she'd consider mending bridges with her co-star, she responded: "I haven't really thought about it. I feel like if I was to ever bump into Charlotte I'd say hello, like I don't hold any grudges." She shared: "But I feel like people do just drift apart. We're not 20 anymore, we're adults with children, getting married and stuff so obviously that happens.
Friends can drift apart and become different people. I think that for my mental health, I just need to surround myself with positive influences, who lifts us up and support us. I don't want to surround myself with negativity." For the first time, the cast brought their families and kids to film the series.
In August, Charlotte revealed on her podcast Always On: "It just ended up going so terribly wrong. I don't know why but the whole series, I later discovered, was a bit weird. I'm sad for loads of reasons.
