Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Odudu 's TV contest The Big Blow Out will not be back for a second series as Channel 4 has announced it is axing the show. The competition debuted on E4 in September and was made by Love Productions, the company behind smash hits such as The Great British Bake Off and The Great Pottery Throwdown.
But it seems that The Big Blow Out will not be following the same successful run as Bake Off as it has been culled to make way for new shows in Channel 4's schedules. Its one season was hosted by popular TV presenter AJ, whose career has gone from strength to strength since she took part in the 2021 series of Strictly.
The Big Blow Out saw contestants show off their incredible hairstyling talents as they took on challenges in the show's salon with real clients in the chair. Confirming that the show would not be returning, a Channel 4 statement read: "The Big Blow Out gave us many spectacular hair creations and we grew to love our passionate prodigies, but like all broadcasters we often have to make the difficult decision to stop making some programmes in order to make new ones." At the time the show was announced, AJ said: "You would not believe how excited I am to be hosting The Big Blow Out.
It’s full of drama, dedication, excitement and most importantly, creative hairstyles on all hair types that will be sure to blow your socks off. "I’m looking forward to meeting the contestants and seeing what they come up with.
