Detectives have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to after a victim was attacked by a stranger. Greater Manchester Police says a man in his 20s suffered serious head injuries.
The force has released a CCTV appeal today (August 31) following the attack, which took place in the early hours of Sunday, June 18. It is believed the victim was assaulted by an unknown man at around 3.30am on Wallgate, in Wigan.
He was taken to hospital for medical treatment. A GMP spokesperson said: "Officers investigating this incident have followed up on a number of lines of enquiry and are now in a position to ask for the public's assistance.

"GMP would like to speak to the man pictured as they believe he could assist with enquires. Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time or who may have witnessed the incident."
