There are multiple ways to categorize a victory in the this ever-evolving TV landscape, but for the purposes of this story looking at the debuts of NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox and The CW’s new shows, Variety has ranked the programs by the total viewers that each series premiere racked up, according to Nielsen’s Live + Same Day data.

Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence said after the success of The Hunger Games and her Oscar win she “lost a sense of control” but her new film Causeway finally “feels personal” to her again. The 32-year-old has returned to her independent film roots playing a soldier struggling to adjust to life after returning home to New Orleans in Lila Neugebauer’s directorial debut. The Apple TV+ film is the first from Lawrence’s production company Excellent Cadaver and sees her perform alongside Brian Tyree Henry.

Talking to Francine Stock about her career as part of the London Film Festival’s “Screen Talk” series, Lawrence opened up about her feelings on working in the hit franchise. “I think I lost a sense of control. Between ‘The Hunger Games’ coming out and winning the Oscar [for 2012’s “Silver Lining Playbook”], I became such a commodity that I felt like every decision was a big, big group decision. When I reflect now, I can’t think of those following years, [because there was] just a loss of control.”

‘Causeway’ Trailer Shows Jennifer Lawrence Battling PTSD in A24-Apple Drama

Clayton Davis A24 and Apple Original Films have released the first trailer for “Causeway,” their new drama starring Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence.  Lawrence stars as Lynsey, a military engineer who returns to the United States from Afghanistan after suffering a debilitating brain injury after an IED explosion.   After premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, Lawrence, who also serves as one of the film’s producers, garnered rave reviews for her performance. The film hopes to find a pathway into a crowded lead actress field.
