Two people who died in an avalanche in the French Alps earlier this week were a mother and son, their family have said.

A man who died in a crash in Lanarkshire has been named as 22-year-old Blane Rundell.
Mr Rundell was the driver of a red Suzuki Alto car which was involved in a collision with a HGV on the B7078 north of Kerse Roundabout near Lesmahagow on Thursday morning.
Emergency services attended but tragically he was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.
A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
