Consumer watchdog Which? has named the 'worst broadband firm for customer service' in a warning to customers.
According to the watchdog, complaints from broadband users over the customer service they receive are on the rise, with Virgin Media now the most-complained about broadband provider in the country. Ofcom is currently investigating the internet giant, which is the second-largest internet provider, over its handling of complaints and contract terminations.
Virgin Media was the most unpopular of the internet providers in a survey of complaints, with customers saying they are hard to contact and slow. Rocio Concha, Which? director of policy and advocacy said: “Customer service has hit rock bottom – with some customers stuck in endless loops just trying to get help."

Virgin was "substantially" below the industry average on customer service, technical support, and ease of getting in touch, which follows a difficult year for the telecoms giant, after angering many of their millions of customers who were handed a mid-contract price rise of 8.8 per cent. They have 5.7 million customers across the UK.
Which?'s Rocio Concha continued: “Virgin Media was named the worst broadband firm for customer service in our research – faring particularly poorly for technical support and providing quick and efficient responses.
“This is particularly unacceptable when the company has enforced mid-contract price hikes of almost nine per cent this April, on top of an increase of almost 14 per cent last April.
