The 14-year-old at the centre of the Harpurhey murder investigation has been named locally as Nathaniel Shani. Tributes have poured in for the teenager after he was stabbed during an altercation in the Manchester neighbourhood on Friday evening (September 15).
Flowers and tributes have been left at the scene of the tragedy, off Tavistock Square. A 14-year-old arrested on suspicion of murder was being questioned by murder squad detectives this afternoon (Saturday).
The tight-knit Harpurhey community has been left reeling in the wake of Nathaniel's death. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help his family. Pals have flooded TikTok and Facebook with tributes.

"Funniest person in the world," one mate said. "Always in our hearts," another posted on TikTok.
One friend added: "He didn't deserve this, we'll miss him a lot." Another poignant message read: "Rest in paradise... the kindest soul."
Harpurhey Neighbourhood Project said in a statement: "As a community, we are in mourning after hearing of a the tragic death of a 14 year old boy yesterday evening. We offer our condolences to the family and friends, and our support in whatever way we can.
"The team is thinking and talking about ways in which we can support the young people immediately to process their grief and anger at this understandably emotional time."
Harpurhey councillor Pat Karney told the Manchester Evening News: "Everyone in Harpurhey is heartbroken for this family. We can't imagine the pain and the anguish they are going through.
