Bobby Brazier says he will dedicate one of his Strictly Come Dancing performances to his late mother Jade Goody.
The actor, 20, who plays Freddie Slater on the BBC soap EastEnders will join the latest group of celebrities trying their luck on Strictly. The BBC ballroom dancing show will return to screens on Saturday September 16, with Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly as hosts.
Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse will all return as the esteemed judges alongside Bobby, Zara McDermott, Les Dennis, Amanda Abbington and many more contestants. While the show hasn't even kicked off, Bobby is already thinking ahead to his future routines.
Speaking to the Daily Mail at the NTA's, he said: "There’s a few – it depends on the mood. Saturday Love and also This Woman’s Worth by Maxwell - that would be beautiful, I’d hope to make people cry doing that."
Bobby added: "Maybe I’ll dedicate that one [to my mum]. I haven’t thought about it, but maybe that one."
The actor was just five-years-old, and his brother Freddie, four, when Jade Goody passed away on Mother's Day, 2009, following a battle with cervical cancer. Speaking to The Face, he previously explained he was so used to not having his mum around that it feels normal.
“I don’t feel like I’ve missed out on a mum. It’s normal life to me,” he told the publication. “I’ve kind of spent more life without her than I did with her.”
The model also told of the heartbreaking reason he doesn’t miss his mum. He added: “I don’t. Because I don’t feel like I was with her long enough to miss her.”
He added: “I miss what could’ve been. I hear all the time she was such a presence, that she was one of a kind. What hurts most is that it wasn’t just losing anyone, it was losing
