The 2023 series of Strictly Come Dancing is just around the corner, with the new season scheduled to launch of BBC One on Saturday 16 September. A new set of celebrities are set to take to the iconic dance floor on the hit BBC One show, including Bobby Brazier, Les Dennis, Ellie Leach and Angela Scanlon. This year's pairings are yet to be revealed, with Strictly bosses being careful to keep them under wraps until the launch show.
However, the show's team of professional dancers starred in the new trailer for the 2023 series, including Lauren Oakley, who joined the cast in 2022. Professional dancer Lauren, 32, joined Strictly last year alongside three other new pros, but she didn't have a celebrity partner and only appeared in group numbers in the live shows. The Birmingham-born star boasts an incredible career, having started dancing at the age of two and going on to begin competing not long after.
In her early dance days, she was crowned Juvenile Champion at the Blackpool Dance Festival, winning across both Latin and ballroom disciplines. She was also crowned Under 21 British National Champion. Lauren then began exploring a career on stage, joining the Burn The Floor team and going on to become dance captain.
She has toured the world with the show, visiting places such South Africa, Australia, China, Europe, North America and Japan. Most recently, Lauren performed with Giovanni Pernice and Anton Du Beke on their live tours. In March, June and July she appeared at Donaheys Dancing With The Stars Weekends.
