Ben Shephard tries to 'hold it together' on last Good Morning Britain as Kate Garraway 'too emotional'

Kate Garraway said Good Morning Britain was already 'too emotional' just moments into Friday's episode (February 23) as she co-hosted alongside Ben Shephard for the last time. The presenter is leaving the ITV news programme after 10 years for a new job on This Morning.
It was revealed last week that Ben is now the new co-host of the ITV daytime show alongside Cat Deeley. The pair will replace previous main hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby following their sudden exits within months of each other last year.
Ben's co-host Richard Arnold has confirmed that Ben and Cat will officially start their This Morning gig on Monday, March 11 which gives Ben a bit of a break as he finishes GMB with two weeks to go until starting his new job.

Appearing on Friday with co-host Kate, 56, for his final GMB show, the duo addressed his emotional exit and new role. Kate said: "It's not even a minute past six, I just realised that's the last time we're here Good Morning Britain with Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway. I'm off already, too emotional!"
Meanwhile, Ben, 49, added: "I'm desperately trying to hold this together, we've got three hours" with Kate replying: "Are you? Feeling a bit emotional?" to which Ben admitted: "Yeah, I do!"
Charlotte Hawkins was also emotional, saying: "I have to say, Ben, we'll be doing our best to keep it together today." But Kate joked: "We have got three hours of other stuff, it's not just all Ben Shepard mania. Although it is about 92%.'
