Mr Harper claimed that the decision was his 'legal responsibility' and that he made the decision after the interview between Susanna and Mr Sunak on Tuesday (October 4). But Kate interrupted the Tory MP who hit back and said: "Hang on, can I finish the answer and absolutely come back on me?"

He then continued to say that he 'legally took the decision on Tuesday, it was agreed by the Cabinet on Wednesday morning before Mr Sunak delivered the news on Wednesday afternoon. But Kate was quick to jump back in and press Mr Harper.
