BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Angela Rippon says 'wish me luck' as she breaks silence after Blackpool backlash

Angela Rippon has asked fans to 'wish her luck' as she broke her silence after being saved on Strictly Come Dancing sparked outrage. Fans of the BBC One dance contest last saw the veteran broadcaster in the ballroom over the weekend.
Angela impressed the judges on Saturday night (November 11) during her latest stint in the ballroom with her professional dance partner Kai Widdrington. The pair were hoping to bounce back from being in the dreaded dance-off the weekend before with their Paso Doble to Madonna’s Hung Up.
But during her dance, Angela slipped and the error was noticed by head judge Shirley Ballas. Despite the mistake, Angela received high scores from the judging panel with Shirley saying the slip 'didn't matter' while fellow judge Motsi Mabuse told her: "This Paso is going to Blackpool."

However, it wasn't enough in viewers' eyes as the 79-year-old landed in the dance-off for a second week in a row, this time against Krishnan Guru-Murphy and his dance partner Lauren Oakley who sadly, during Sunday night's results show, became the seventh couple to leave the competition.
The decision sparked some fury among Strictly fans who felt as though the judges had decided they wanted Angela in the famous Blackpool week even before she was at risk of an exit. Since, Angela hasn't addressed keeping her place in the dance competition alongside Kai - until now.
