Jake Humphrey says his wife has banned him from ever competing on Strictly Come Dancing because of the show's infamous 'curse'. The TV presenter, 44, has been married to childhood sweetheart Harriet since 2007 and together they share a daughter named Florence, nine, and a son named Sebastian, seven. And if anyone was to know what goes on behind the scenes of the show it's Harriet, who worked on Strictly Come Dancing as a production coordinator.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Jake revealed he has been asked many times to compete on Strictly, but his wife has forbidden him from taking part. He told the publication: "When I was doing Formula 1, I regularly had to field requests from Strictly but there were two reasons for not doing it. “The first was that I was always away at that time of year and the second was that my wife worked on the show, and she was like: ‘You are never going on that show, I know what happens to couples that go on that show!’ “I was banned from doing that one.” The so-called ‘Strictly Curse’ has reared its head many times throughout the show's history, first surfacing in season one.
