Barclays has confirmed which 14 of its branches will be closing by the end of the year.
Customers in MediaCity, Salford, are be among those who will now be expected to go online or head to their next-nearest branch. The list of new branch closures comes after the London-based banking firm previously shared they would be shutting at least 142 branches in 2023 and 2024, reports the Mirror.
It is just the latest in a number of similar moves by high street banks, a trend which has made some campaigners concerned that entire communities will be left without any in-person financial services. Barclays this year posted a record first-quarter pre-tax profit of £2.6billion, its best performance since 2011.

Here are the Barclays branches set to close, and when their doors will shut.
Meanwhile, Lloyds are closing at least 83 banks in total, while NatWest has 140 scheduled to shut their doors forever this year and into 2024. Halifax will shutter 47 branches in total and Santander will close five.
Nationwide will close two and TSB has so far announced it will shut nine sites, while Virgin Money is set to shut just one. Bank of Scotland is also shutting 21 branches, and RBS is closing four.
Barclays have been approached for comment on the latest closures.

Empire operates 12 locations under the Empire brand and two Tivoli-branded cinemas in Bath and Cheltenham. The companies employ 437 people across England and Scotland. Around 150 staff — roughly a third of the company’s workforce — have been laid off as part of the administration process. BDO LLP have been appointed as administrators handling the case. So far, Empire cinemas have closed in Bishop’s Stortford, Catterick Garrison, Sunderland, Swindon, Walthamstow and Wigan. In addition, a site that was previously shuttered at Sutton Coldfield won’t reopen.
