The 32-year-old West Side Story star is revealing how the performance came to be, what she originally wanted, what the producers of the show wanted, why she only cried one time afterwards, and how she feels about it looking back now. She shared all of this during an interview for Marie Claire’s Ambition Issue.

76th annual Tony Awards, returning host Ariana DeBose addressed the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike with studios during what normally would have been a traditional song-and-dance-filled opening monologue.
