Amy Dowden has expressed her determination to make a comeback to Strictly Come Dancing after her breast cancer diagnosis forced her to sit out the latest series.
The 33-year-old professional dancer, who disclosed in February that her recent health check showed "no evidence of disease", is still not in the clear and will be under observation for five years.
She shared that she must continue hospital visits for check-ups and receive a monthly injection to manage her "hormone fed" cancer. Speaking on BBC Breakfast, Amy revealed her aspirations to return to the show, saying: "If Strictly will have me back, I'll be back."
"The goal and the dream is to be back on the dancefloor, as well. Cause I've missed it so, so much," she added. Amy also mentioned her efforts towards recovery, including rehab and physiotherapy, and her hope to reappear on viewers' screens dancing later this year, reports OK!.
This update follows Amy's recent revelation that her eyelashes have fallen out again due to her cancer treatment. In an Instagram story update from her car while en route to a hospital appointment, she said: "Good morning, everyone. It's been ages since I've come on and spoke to you all.
"But I'm not going to lie, I've come an hour early by mistake for my blood test at the hospital so I thought, do you know what, I'm going to come on and say hello to you all."
She continued: "Excuse the wild hair. I have put this serum on it to help keep the condition a bit, but it's gone a bit curly and a bit wild. I've also lost my eyelashes again, only a few of them. They are growing back again, but I did read when I was having treatment quite a few posts from ladies who said that they had lost them again, like after the 12-week cycle they lost them
