Amanda Abbington is reportedly seeking legal advice after she issued a request for the BBC footage of her rehearsals with Strictly professional dancer Giovanni Pernice.
It comes as the actress revealed she had been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) following her sudden exit from the BBC show in October, reports the Mirror. At the time of her exit, she cited "personal reasons" for her departure.
Now, it's been revealed that the BBC has received a request from the star for backstage footage of herself with Giovanni as part of a data subject request.
A source told The Sun: "There is a feeling that the recordings will lift the lid on what really goes on behind the scenes on Strictly. Things in rehearsals can become very tense."
They also revealed that Giovanni could be "incredibly full-on" as he is a "perfectionist". The BBC declined to comment when approached by the Mirror. Amanda Abbington's representatives have also been approached.
A friend of the actress reportedly informed the publication that she had been left "broken and saddened" by the experience and has "needed therapy and was left in shock by the behaviour she was exposed to".
They also confirmed that it's taken months for her to get through her traumatic experience and that it was a "real shock", as she had been so excited to sign up for the show.
They added: "Everyone else was having a fabulous time, but she was really stressed by having to spend eight hours a day with Giovanni. She spent a lot of time crying and couldn’t sleep or eat properly."
The Sherlock star was one of the twelve celebrity contestants taking part in season 21 of the long-running BBC dance contest - however, she withdrew after just five weeks on the show.
