Alison Hammond subtly addresses backlash over Paul O'Grady For the Love of Dogs gig

Alison Hammond appears to have subtly responded to backlash over her new TV gig as she swapped ITV shows and appeared on ITV's Lorraine on Monday morning (April 15).
The This Morning host headed to chat with Lorraine Kelly, who returned to her self-titled show for the first time in weeks, after she relinquished her duties of the daytime show to new permanent hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard after she and Dermot O'Leary stepped in for the two-week Easter holidays.
But while her main gig is on This Morning on a Friday with Dermot and the fact she's also busy being the co-host of The Great Britsih Bake Off, it hasn't put Alison off adding more TV work to her CV as she was revealed earlier this year as the new host of Paul O'Grady's For the Love of Dogs.

The much-loved TV star passed away 'unexpectedly but peacefully' aged 67 back in March 2023. Following his passing, Paul's last series hosting the show was aired and it's now been revealed that Alison will be fronting the adored show set at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, where she'll help the animals in their care look for a new place to live.
Speaking of her new role when it was announced, Alison said: "I am very aware that I can never replace the iconic Paul in this wonderful series, but if I can continue to shine a light on the brilliant work done at Battersea and help to tell the stories of these beautiful dogs, then it will be an absolute privilege to give it my all.
