Anna Marie de la Fuente L.A.-based Campanario Entertainment and Mexico City shingle Addiction House have forged a strategic partnership in the wake of their successful Prime Video series “How to Survive Being Single” (“Como Sobrevivir Soltero”). The pact calls for the joint development and production of five scripted and unscripted projects in English and Spanish, starting with a TV series and a film, both fiction. Campanario Entertainment co-founder and president Jaime Dávila and senior VP Diana Mejia-Jones will work in tandem with Addiction House co-founders/brothers Sebastian and Emiliano Zurita and their partner Ricardo Gaspar to make shows that will hopefully appeal beyond its natural markets, the U.S. and Latin America.

The Smile have shared a new song titled "Bending Hectic." The song was debuted by the band, made up of Radiohead members Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood alongside Tom Skinner, at Montreux Jazz Festival last year. The jury, headed by Anurag Kashyap, called the Asmae El Moudir-directed film “audacious, cutting-edge and courageous.” It presented the A$60,000 ($41,100) cash prize film ahead at the State Theatre ahead of the Australian premiere screening of “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.” The film, which uses doll-like figurines, recently premiered in Un Certain Regard at Cannes, where it earned the section’s best director prize. “Juxtaposing evidence from barely existent public materials with private family memory, this film reconstructs the history of the state, the family and the individual, in three distinct levels,” said the jury of Kashyap, actor Mia Wasikowska (Australia), film curator and journalist Dorothee Wenner (Germany), writer and director Larissa Behrendt (Australia) and filmmaker Visakesa Chandrasekaram (Australia – Sri Lanka).
Michael Schneider Variety Editor at Large Netflix’s controversial reality competition show based on its smash South Korean drama “Squid Game” will finally debut in November, and the streamer offered up a very brief glimpse of reality show “Squid Game: The Challenge” on Saturday during its global, virtual Tudum fan event from Brazil. “The world’s most notorious game becomes reality,” the teaser clip says, before showing contestants exiting their rooms and heading to the game of “Red Light Green Light” — featuring the giant, killer doll that in the scripted “Squid Game” swivels its head around and fires gunshots to eliminate players who were moving. The unscripted game show, which was first announced in June 2022, was shot across two studios in the U.K. and produced by Studio Lambert and The Garden. Like the series, 456 contestants were cast (in this case, from around the world) to compete in various challenges based on the Korean children’s games featured on the show, as well as new games. The winner receives a $4.56 million cash prize.
The Smile have “a big backlog of ideas” for new music, according to their guitarist Jonny Greenwood.The band – Greenwood, his Radiohead bandmate Thom Yorke, and former Sons Of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner – released their debut album ‘A Light For Attracting Attention’ in 2022. Earlier this year they confirmed that work had begun on a follow-up.Now, Greenwood has told Consequence that the band are “still firing off each other” and “wanna keep moving forward” with new music.“The frustration of having not had access to playing in a band for a couple of years [has] just built up a big backlog of ideas,” he said.
