Stardew Valley fans will soon be able to cook their way through the seasons with the official cookbook from developer Eric ‘ConcernedApe‘ Barone and author Ryan Novak.With over 50 recipes inspired by the game, like the famous Pink Cake that is the favourite of a few of the villagers, the cookbook focuses on seasonal ingredients to reflect Stardew Valley‘s sustainable principles (spotted by PC Gamer). Activision Blizzard has confirmed that the next Call Of Duty game, widely believed to be Modern Warfare 3, will be revealed through a “limited-time event” in Warzone.Yesterday (July 27), Activision Blizzard shared a blog post outlining the contents of Warzone Season 5, which launches for the battle royale on August 2.Within the post, it was confirmed that Modern Warfare 2 antagonist Graves, presumed dead after one of the game’s closing missions, is still alive. As the leader of mercenary group Shadow Company, Graves will arrive in Warzone as a playable operator — while his mercenary group will seemingly be involved in the next Call Of Duty.“Drop into Call of Duty: Warzone to experience the worldwide reveal for Call of Duty 2023 in a limited-time event,” reads the blog.

Frictional Games, famous for the Penumbra and Amnesia series, shared its intentions to tone down the horror elements in its future games.In an interview, creative director Thomas Grip explained that the emotional investment is the most important aspect of a game from Frictional Games, rather than the fear factor (via 80lv). “While all of our games have been horror in some way, what we really try to do is to get a kind of ‘playable immersion’,” he said.Referring to Amnesia: Rebirth‘s themes of motherhood and SOMA‘s philosophical questions on how we define a human being, Grip praised the team’s “holistic” efforts to balance both these complex subjects as well as an entertaining and terrifying experience.“We delivered these themes within a horror context, but those stories could be told in another genre,” continued the creative director.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone patch has brought a crossover with The Boys, adding four playable characters and superpowers from the Amazon TV show.The crossover kicked off today yesterday (July 12), with The Boys‘ own Starlight joining Call Of Duty with an operator bundle. Homelander will then arrive on Sunday (July 16), while Black Noir will be added on July 20.Priced at 2,400 CoD points (£16.79) each, every bundle will also come with three Tracer Weapon Blueprints and their own finishing move, along with weapon cosmetics and a loading screen.Besides cosmetics, Warzone players will also have a chance to find the ‘Temp V’ field upgrade, which will grant users one of four random superpowers: Charge Jump, Electric Shockwave, Laser Vision, and Teleport.While Charge Jump “propels players across the map” without any fall damage, Electric Shockwave “sends a powerful electrical explosion that injures Operators and AI Combatants, as well as destroys vehicles and equipment”.Meanwhile, Laser Vision lets players hover in the air and fire laser beams from their eyes, and finally, Teleport lets players warp into the sky.You can check out all four powers in action below:This is the latest in a string of crossovers for The Boys.

Annapurna Interactive Showcase today (June 29), Dinogod founder Ben Ruiz has spoken to NME about Bounty Star, their studio’s upcoming base-buiilding mech game.Announced last year, Bounty Star follows ex-soldier Clem, who must build up her base of operations while hunting bounties in her mech. Thanks to Bounty Star‘s elements of farming, base-building and 3D mech combat, along with its “post-post-apocalyptic” Western setting, fans have been struggling to find an existing game to compare it to — something its director, Ruiz, is pleased with.“I think it’s cool that that’s the response,” Ruiz tells NME.

Capcom has kicked off a surprise Street Fighter 6 beta for PlayStation users, though fans of the upcoming fighting game will need to wait until next week to play on Xbox or PC.The Street Fighter 6 showcase was broadcast last night (April 20), where Capcom revealed it was dropping a demo immediately after the stream ended.“Create your avatar, explore World Tour mode and start fighting,” teased Lil Wayne, who hosted the showcase.While the Street Fighter 6 beta is available now on PS4 and PS5, it won’t arrive on PC or Xbox Series X|S until next Wednesday (April 26).While Capcom has not announced a closing date for the beta, a recent blog post from the studio has confirmed what will be on offer. Bungie has acknowledged that it “missed the mark” with parts of last month’s Lightfall expansion for Destiny 2.In a blog, published last night (April 5), Bungie praised Lightfall for beating the studio’s sales expectations and bringing in the most concurrent players the game had seen “in years”.However, game director Joe Blackburn acknowledged that with the expansion’s launch, Bungie “didn’t provide the full clarity we originally planned for when we set out creating Lightfall”.The expansion’s Steam reviews currently sit at a ‘Mostly Negative’ rating, as players have reported experiencing technical issues, a disappointing story, and limited content.“It’s clear we missed the mark on some of our goals and needed to make updates based on constructive feedback,” said Bungie in its recent blog.As a result, Bungie has listed a number of areas that it plans to revisit.

Hello Games has revealed the Interceptor update for its open-world sci-fi title No Man’s Sky, which has added new enemies, planets and ships for players to tackle.Update 4.2 for No Man’s Sky, titled Interceptor, was revealed today (April 5) and pits players against corrupted planets that have spread throughout the galaxy.These corrupted planets offer new buildings, resources and equipment for adventurous players to discover, including a unique jetpack. However, the loot will be guarded by robot guardians who have been “twisted” by corruption.“The strange power flowing through corrupted worlds has warped the Sentinels beyond recognition,” teased Hello Games.

Activision Blizzard has detailed recent changes to its Ricochet anti-cheat system, including developer-side match replays and a number of creative ways to frustrate Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 cheaters.In a blog, posted yesterday (March 5), Activision Blizzard confirmed that its kernel-level anti-cheat software Ricochet had been updated with “several new layers of security and detections” to battle cheaters.One such feature is a new replay investigation tool, which will allow teams at Activision Blizzard to watch any completed match to review its footage for signs of cheating.At the “highest tiers” of ranked in Modern Warfare 2, Activision has shared that matches will be automatically recorded in case they need to be investigated for cheating.“Though it’s a new tool for Team Ricochet, Replay has already helped with investigations into suspicious accounts resulting in permanent bans,” shared the company.Additionally, Ricochet has been updated with new software to detect third-party hardware, which can be used to minimise recoil for users. Anyone caught using this sort of hardware will first receive a warning about their device, but continued use can lead to suspensions or even bans.Elsewhere, a number of creative in-game solutions from Call Of Duty: Vanguard have been implemented in an attempt to frustrate cheaters during matches.

Mojang and Wizards Of The Coast have announced the launch of Dungeons & Dragons downloadable content (DLC) for Minecraft, which will introduce a “story-driven” campaign and five classes to choose from.The Dungeons & Dragons DLC is set to launch on the Minecraft Marketplace in spring 2023, and will include a number of enemies, locations and features from Wizards Of The Coast’s 1974 game.In the DLC, players will choose from five Dungeons & Dragons classes – including Barbarian and Wizard – and explore five Forgotten Realms from the D&D universe.
