Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer Amazon is taking back to school shopping to a whole new level with a virtual experience to promote the Sept. 29 debut of “The Boys” college spinoff “Gen V.” On Tuesday, the e-commerce giant launched GodolkinUniversity.com, a “Gen V”-themed website that includes an online campus tour for the show’s fictional superhero college, Godolkin University, that gives users the chance to purchase 150 items from Amazon.com through the company’s first-ever “title-themed virtual store.” The “Gen V” tie-in website allows you to explore the campus, including the campus store, and gives you multiple opportunities to purchase Godolkin University merchandise through the Amazon website, as well as standard dorm room supplies already available on Amazon.

It’s back-to-school season, and for “Gen V” that means it’s time for books, brawls and blood.

Michaela Zee Tom Jones, who wrote the book and lyrics for the longest-running musical “The Fantasticks,” died Friday at his home in Sharon, Conn. He was 95. Jones’ son Michael told The New York Times the cause was cancer.

The first three episodes of “Gen V” are set to premiere on September 29 with subsequent episodes airing weekly through November 3. In the new trailer, violence, terror and hormones cover nearly every inch of Godolkin as Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) and her fellow classmates work to harness their powers and enjoy the normal thrill of university life, all while heeding daunting warnings: “There are dangerous, evil people at that school,” someone says in the trailer.

Good Omens season 2 is set to introduce an entirely new journey for Aziraphale and Crowley. 

Prime Video is getting a new spinoff series of its hit original show, “The Boys”. The forthcoming superhero series, titled “Gen V” will debut on the streamer this fall.

Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer Amazon Prime Video has finally set the premiere date for “The Boys” spinoff series “Gen V.” Also from creator Eric Kripke, the new show, which takes place at a superhero college, will launch with its first three episodes on Sept. 29. New episodes will rollout weekly until the Season 1 finale on Nov. 3. Per Amazon’s description for “Gen V”: “From the world of ‘The Boys’ comes ‘Gen V,’ which explores the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about Compound V, and that their powers were injected into them, rather than God-given. These young, competitive heroes put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s highly coveted top ranking. They quickly come to learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and the difference between right and wrong is not as clear as they once believed. When the university’s dark secrets come to light, the students must come to grips with what type of heroes they are going to become.”

They had this big, beautiful barn on the property and they would entertain almost every weekend. Not in a formal way, but with everyone. Not necessarily actors. It was neighbors and friends from all walks of life. They would have everybody over and make hamburgers. They screened movies. I saw a lot of old movies with them, from ‘Lady in the Tramp’ to ‘The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds.’ It was just part of the fabric of that household. And it was a gift.”

Originally based on Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s bestselling novel, “Good Omens 2” goes beyond the source material to illuminate the unique friendship between Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), a fussy angel and rare-book dealer and the fast-living demon Crowley (David Tennant). The duo are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London’s Soho until the archangel Gabriel (Jon Hamm) turns up unexpectedly at the door of Aziraphale’s bookshop with no memory of who he is or how he got there. Reprising their roles are Doon Mackichan as archangel Michael and Gloria Obianyo as archangel Uriel. Returning this season in new roles are Miranda Richardson as demon Shax, Maggie Service as Maggie and Nina Sosanya as Nina, with new faces joining the misfits in Heaven and Hell: Liz Carr as angel Saraqael, Quelin Sepulveda as angel Muriel and Shelley Conn as demon Beelzebub.

"Grease" fans: a new series is here.  The new Paramount+ TV musical "Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies" takes place four years before Sandy Olsson ever attended Rydell High or met any of the Pink Ladies and tells their origin story. It stars Marisa Davila, Ari Notartomaso, Cheyenne Isabel Wells and Tricia Fukuhara as the founders.

Didi Conn was sent a sweet gift by her 'Grease' co-star Dame Olivia Newton-John just weeks before her death. The 71-year-old actress - who played Frenchy in the 1978 movie-musical - has revealed the pair kept in touch over the years and they had a poignant chat when Olivia was being treated for a broken leg in hospital shortly before she lost her battle with cancer.
