Romancing Saga: Minstrel Song has been announced by Square Enix and is scheduled to release this winter.Minstrel Song is a remake of the original 1992 Super Famicom Romancing Saga RPG and was initially released for PS2. Outside of changing the 16-bit visuals to 3D, the remake also made changes to several character designs and made alterations to the battle system and class system, but still includes the original’s eight main playable characters.

The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time fan-developed PC port by Harbour Masters has been updated with a range of features, such as Linux compatibility, a save modifier, and 60FPS availability.The updates came by way of a humorous “Ship Of Harkinian Direct” (as Ship Of Harkinian is the name of the port), with the updates being accessible via the development team’s Discord server. This release of the game has been dubbed “Roy Alfa” (via VGC).Other new features include save states, a collision viewer for those interested in viewing how the game’s objects interact with each other, a cheat menu, audio and visual enhancements, the option to view dropped items rendered in 3D, the ability to change text rendering speed, and the inclusion of the Majora’s Mask bunny hood, a very handy tool that allows Link to move faster when equipped.What might be most impressive is the huge amount of accessibility features, including audio descriptions and pointers to assist with judging depth.The PC port was released back in April and was created via reverse engineering a version of The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time.

Atlus player survey is asking questions about whether or not users want the Persona series to be brought to other devices like Xbox, Nintendo Switch, mobile and PC.The survey, which can be found here, is open to users until later today (May 15) and is being used by Atlus to help the company deliver “compelling gaming experiences” (via NintendoLife).Most of the questions ask what games players are currently aware of across the industry and what platforms they play on alongside their purchasing habits. Atlus then asks which Persona game was the user’s first experience with the franchise or whether they’ve played the series at all.The survey also asks what players think makes an Atlus title unique, from things like character designs to “music worth listening to” and an “interesting/deep story.”Atlus then asks what platforms players would like to play games from the Etrian Odyssey, Shin Megami Tensei and Persona franchises on, with platforms like the PS4, PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and mobile devices all included.

Remedy Entertainment has announced that Alan Wake Remastered is getting a Nintendo Switch port that will run natively on the hardware, not via the Cloud.In a video released yesterday (May 12) to commemorate the 12-year anniversary of Alan Wake’s release, creative director Sam Lake announced the arrival of the port.The remastered version is slated for release this autumn (between September and November), with a specific date being announced closer to the game’s release. Alan Wake Remastered was previously released for Xbox, Playstation and PC last October.

Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, has confirmed in a recent Japanese investor Q&A that the slightly controversial Nintendo Switch Online service would continue to expand its content offerings throughout the year.The Q&A was transcribed by VGC, where Furukawa states, “the total subscribers of Nintendo Switch Online has not been updated from the 32 million subscribers we disclosed last September, but it is gradually increasing as the sales of Nintendo Switches increases.”Furukawa continues; “of course, there are customers who allow their subscribership to expire, and then they don’t renew, so we believe it is important to continue releasing software that allows players to continue enjoying, not only online play, but also enhances their overall experience.” He concluded his statement by confirming “we will continue to expand our services and create new content for our customers throughout this year.”When questioned about more expansions and DLC being added, Nintendo’s president is reluctant to give a straight answer, claiming, “we will continue to consider the convenience for our customers as well as how well it would tie in with individual software. We will provide the best possible solution for each title.”The content mentioned remains unspecified, but there are a few possibilities.

Ubisoft has confirmed that three of its big upcoming releases will launch by the end of the financial year, 31 March 2023.The titles mentioned are Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2017 Switch exclusive; Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, a new game set within the universe of James Cameron’s movie franchise, developed by Massive Entertainment (Tom Clancy’s The Division); and Skull and Bones, the ever-elusive pirate ship battling multiplayer title which has been incubating in development since 2013, originally being conceived as an expansion and then a spin-off of that year’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.Skull and Bones was originally revealed as far back as Ubisoft’s 2017 E3 press conference, and last publicly seen at the publisher’s 2018 E3 event. Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has admitted the company is concerned about moving on from the Nintendo Switch.It comes after the Wii sold over 100 million units while its followup, the WiiU, managed just 13.5 million. The Long Dark developer Hinterland Studio has shared a blog post discussing the survival game’s future, including plans for a “season pass” with paid downloadable content (DLC) coming later this year.Posted yesterday (April 29), a developer diary titled ‘The Future Of The Long Dark‘ has touched on the game’s eight-year history and looked ahead at what’s next.While Hinterland Studio expressed appreciation for the game’s fanbase, it also explained that the developer’s promise to make every update free posed a major challenge in “managing our resources”.The blog then added that in a recent poll, 80 per cent of players expressed a desire for Hinterland Studio to create paid expansion content.

Dying Light 2 has finally received the update that introduces New Game Plus to the game, which has been shown off in a new trailer.The highly requested feature arrived in Dying Light 2 yesterday (April 27) as part of update 1.3.0, and with it comes a variety of changes and updates. “After finishing it once, the game can be replayed again, only this time with modified game parameters in place to encourage a second playthrough by the implementation of a unique system and experience,” explains the notes on the game’s Steam page.One of the big additions is 30 new inhibitors, a form of collectible that can increase your health and stamina, as well as extending your immunity with each upgrade.

Sega has confirmed that there are no plans for Sonic Origins to receive a physical release.Taking part in the latest official Sonic Livestream, Sega Of America’s social media manager, Katie Chrzanowski responded to a question about a physical release for Sonic Origins. “There isn’t one planned at the moment,” she said.“I have seen a lot of comments asking for one, so the team has been made aware of that, there is a want for a physical release,” she added.Sonic Mania was released digitally in 2017 to mark Sonic The Hedgehog’s 25th anniversary and was followed up by Sonic Mania Plus the following year.

Sega has announced that it will be delisting the digital versions of several original Sonic The Hedgehog games, ahead of their re-release as part of the Sonic Origins collection.Today (April 26), Sega has confirmed that every game set to feature in Sonic Origins will be removed from online storefronts on May 20.That includes Sonic The Hedgehog 1 and 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD.Sonic The Hedgehog 1 and 2 will still be playable via Sega Ages, and Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is currently available as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. However, Sega has not offered alternate ways to play original versions of Sonic 3 & Knuckles or Sonic CD.All of these games will be available as part of Sonic Origins, which launches on June 23, 2022.

Paradox Interactive has announced that the Shadowrun Trilogy will launch on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles this June.The Shadowrun Trilogy, which features Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun: Hong Kong, and Shadowrun: Dragonfall, was originally announced for Nintendo Switch last year, but Paradox has confirmed that the game will also be coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on June 21.The announcement trailer features the series’ single-player tactical gameplay and showcases different dialogue instances between NPCs, a party setup, and open-world environments.You can check out the announcement trailer below:The Shadowrun Trilogy contains the three cult classic RPGs (role-playing games), which take place in a dystopian cyberpunk future where magic has re-awakened and creatures of high fantasy roam the streets. The trilogy is already available on PC via Steam and GOG – with Paradox offering players the chance to get their hands on the turn-based RPGs for free on GOG for a limited time.As the press release explains, the trilogy isn’t just a port, but a remaster that features “upscaled graphics” and “improved performance” as well as gameplay optimised for controllers.

Marvel’s Avengers has confirmed it will be adding Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor as part of its 2.5 update.The news follows on from the reveal that Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster will seemingly be taking up the Mighty Thor mantle in the upcoming Marvel Studios film Thor: Love And Thunder.However, Crystal Dynamic has said that the movie has no impact on their latest updates. “Our Hero designs are driven first and foremost by their core comic book identities, so, as a fellow wielder of Mjolnir, her suite of abilities will have a lot in common with the Odinson’s, however she will also have elements that are distinctly Jane,” the studio said.

Nintendo has announced that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will now launch for Nintendo Switch on July 29, earlier than expected.Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was announced in February and was originally scheduled for a September launch, but it looks like Nintendo has decided to bring the release forward for unconfirmed reasons.A brand new trailer has also been revealed showcasing almost three minutes of gameplay, in-game cutscenes and story content. In the game, players will take the role of protagonists Noah and Mio amid turmoil between the nations of Keves and Agnus, while six characters who originate from those nations join forces to learn the truth behind the conflict.Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is now arriving earlier than expected on 29/07! The Last Worker is set to release sometime in 2022 on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Meta Quest 2.A new trailer for The Last Worker featuring Zelda Williams was also revealed alongside this announcement.Combining a “hand crafted” art style and an all-star cast, The Last Worker is a first-person narrative adventure game “centred around our struggle in an increasingly automated world”.

Sony and Nintendo will be making changes to how they approach renewals to their subscription-based offerings in the UK following a government-led investigation.New users to Nintendo Switch Online won’t have automatic renewal as the default option for the service, with users having to manually opt-in instead.As for Sony, the company will be contacting inactive Playstation Plus subscribers after an unspecified amount of time, informing them how to cancel the subscription.

Young Horses has announced that the upcoming Bugsnax expansion, Isle of Bigsnax, will launch on April 28 alongside a Nintendo Switch and Xbox release.Bugsnax was originally released in 2020 for PS4, PS5, and PC, but the game will soon be arriving on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and is also coming to Xbox Game Pass.Isle of Bigsnax was announced in October 2021 and will be a free update that features a brand new biome for players to explore, along with a dozen new bugsnax to capture and feed to grumpuses, as well as over 100 new challenges, 30 quests, and nearly 200 decorations to customise players’ huts with.In a new PlayStation Blog post, Bugsnax creative director, Kevin Zuhn, shared new details of the upcoming expansion, including the debut trailer which can be viewed below.Zuhn confirmed that the new biome will feature “a greater emphasis on environmental puzzles that put your tools to the test” and players will come across many vertical mazes while hunting Bugsnax. They’ll also gather a party of volunteers including characters, Chandlo, Floofty, Triffany, and Shelda.The developer also shared that some Bugsnax located on the island can be too large for players’ tools and traps, so the DLC will feature a new substance called Shrink Spice which, when thrown at the creatures, will shrink them down to a more manageable size.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human have confirmed that the next patch for the game will be one of the biggest ever released for the title.Techland confirmed on Twitter that its team is currently “working hard” on the next patch for Dying Light 2.“It will be one of the biggest patches we’ve released so far,” the studio promised before going on to say: “Apart from many fixes for both multi and single-player mode, it will also introduce a New Game+ mode, giving you more reasons to re-visit The City.”According to Techland, the new patch will be available on all platforms by the end of April, with patch notes released at the same time.We're planning to release patch 3 on all platforms by the end of this month. Full notes will be available once the update is live.

Assassin’s Creed protagonists Eivor and Ezio will appear in Fortnite later this week, along with a couple of other cosmetics related to Ubisoft‘s open-world series.Yesterday (April 5), Epic Games announced that both Ezio and Eivor – both playable characters in the Assassin’s Creed series – are coming to Fortnite.The Ezio Auditore and Eivor Varinsdottir outfits will be added to Fortnite on April 7 at 8PM ET, however timezone differences mean that the outfits will launch on April 8 in the UK.Alongside the outfits, both assassins are also getting some extra cosmetics. Ezio’s outfit will include Ezio’s Hidden Blade Pickaxe, an item that only Ezio can equip, and the outfit will also have a built-in Assassin’s Strike Emote.Meanwhile, Eivor’s outfit will arrive with a Cloaked alt style, which allows her to don the series’ trademark hood.
