Happy Valley, Succession and The Traitors were the big winners at the Edinburgh TV Festival Awards on a strong night for the BBC and Channel 4.

BAFTA TV awards viewers have shared their mixed reactions to a Peaky Blinders dance during this year’s ceremony.The awards took place yesterday evening (May 12), with shows Happy Valley, Top Boy and The Sixth Commandment walking away as the big winners of the evening.However, as part of the ceremony, dance troupe Rambert performed a tribute to Peaky Blinders from their touring show The Redemption of Thomas Shelby, featuring Nick Cave‘s theme song ‘Red Right Hand’ and dancers wearing the show’s trademark hats.Viewers at home had a somewhat mixed response to the performance, however, one writing on X (formerly Twitter): “What was that Peaky Blinders ‘dance'[?].”“What did my eyes just watch, that Peaky Blinders dance was sooo cringe.

Sarah Lancashire is reportedly hanging up her acting boots to try something entirely different - working behind the camera.The A-list actress first shot to fame as Raquel Wolstenhulme on Coronation Street from 1991 until 1996, before briefly returning in 2000. Over the years she's become one of Britain's best-loved actresses, even snagging a BAFTA nomination this week for her role as Police Sergeant Catherine Cawood in the BBC drama Happy Valley.

The Crown‘s swansong season has dominated the BAFTA TV nominations, picking up eight in a record year for Netflix.

Hot off the heels of Fool Me Once, Netflix is set to release another thriller adapted from a Harlan Coben novel and there are lots of familiar faces in the cast.The series, which is based on the 2014 novel, previously cast Slow Horses actress Rosalind Eleazar as the lead Detective Kat Donovan, with filming already underway. Victoria and David Beckham could be adding 'BAFTA winner' to their sprawling list of accolades, as a moment in their Netflix documentary has been nominated for a gong at the TV BAFTAs.The fashion designer, 49, and her former footballer husband, 48, gave fans an insight into their life with the documentary, titled Beckham, last October - looking back at David's football career and their family life. British actor Kingsley Ben-Adir (Peaky Blinders, One Night in Miami) plays Marley, with Lashana Lynch (No Time to Die, Captain Marvel) taking the role of his wife Rita and James Norton (Happy Valley, Grantchester) playing Island Records boss Chris Blackwell. The film has been made in partnership with Marley’s family, and is directed by King Richard’s Reinaldo Marcus Green. The synopsis for the biopic reads: “Bob Marley: One Love celebrates the life and music of an icon who inspired generations through his message of love and unity.

The Wailers have announced a UK tour for November 2024, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the release of the iconic compilation album ‘Legend’.The album, a collection of Bob Marley’s greatest hits, was first released in May 1984 and remains the best-selling reggae album of all time, selling an estimated 25 million copies worldwide.The band, now led by Aston Barrett Jr., will feature the lead vocals of Mitchell Brunings, a Surinamese-Dutch artist that has long been compared to Marley.The Wailers will kick off the tour at NX in Newcastle on November 13, and running through ten more dates, finishing off at Bristol’s O2 Academy on November 25. Tickets for all shows go on sake on Friday (February 23) at 10am.

This Morning was brutally snubbed at the TV Choice Awards, following a difficult year for ITV's flagship daytime series. The programme lost out on the gong for Best Daytime Show at Monday's event, 12 February – which instead went to a rival series, BBC TV's Animal Park, hosted by Kate Humble and Ben Fogle.This Morning faced controversy last May when Philip Schofield stepped down after confessing to a secret affair with a younger colleague. Holly Willoughby, his former co-host, then decided to leave due to security concerns.There have also been rumours of a negative atmosphere behind the scenes, and the show also failed to win at the National Television Awards for the first time in 13 years.
