EXCLUSIVE: Larry Teng has been tapped as director and executive producer on CBS Studios’ CW pilot Walker: Independence, executive produced by Jared Padalecki. The project fall under Teng’s overall deal with the studio.

Jo Koy’s movie Easter Sunday, which was scheduled to open roughly two weeks before Easter weekend on April 1, is heading to Aug. 5.

The CW can’t get enough of Jared Padalecki. The CW is developing a prequel series to “Walker” set in the 1880s from Padalecki and series creator Anna Fricke.Fricke will write the project, which is titled “Walker: Independence” with Padalecki, Seamus Fahey, with Dan Lin, Lindsey Liberatore and Laura Terry on board as executive producers.

The Walker universe on the CW is looking to expand with Walker: Independence, an origin story which comes from the mothership series’ star/executive producer Jared Padalecki, creator/executive producer/showrunner Anna Fricke and executive producers Seamus Fahey, Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore.

Rideback’s Nick Reynolds will executive produce.“The Bodyguard,” which also starred Kevin Costner, 66, was an instant hit when it debuted almost 30 years ago.

Netflix has set the core cast and creative team for Avatar: The Last Airbender. Gordon Cormier (Gabby Duran and the Unsittables), Kiawentiio (Beans), Ian Ousley (Physical), and Dallas Liu (PEN15) have been cast as series regulars in the live-action adaptation of the Nickelodeon series.
