On Thursday the actor accidentally stoked persistent rumors that she may be engaged to with a mirror selfie that prominently featured a big pearl ring.
Naturally, it didn’t take long for fans to notice and begin theorizing about the ring’s significance.The speculation was seemingly so intense that it led Zendaya to delete the image, only to return later with an important clarification.
Apparently, the Oakland, California, native wasn’t announcing anything with the post except her love for the Golden State Warriors, her hometown basketball team.“I can’t post anything you guys,” she faux-complained .
“I posted it for my hat! Like, not for the ring on my right finger you guys! Seriously, you think that’s how I would drop the news? You think, like, what?!”The actor even reposted the selfie with a new onscreen caption to further quell the rumors.
“Let me just put the full body back so ya’ll can relax lmao,” she wrote atop the photo as her final word on the matter…for now, at least.
