A young mum-of-three who was told she had just six months to live has vowed to 'defy the odds' and do everything she can to see her kids grow up.
Jenna Wareing, 33, was handed the devastating diagnosis of stage three breast cancer after finding a lump in her breast in September 2022. The young mum has battled through gruelling bouts of chemotherapy and radiotherapy to reduce her risk - but in July was told the cancer had spread to her liver.
Now doctors have told Jenna that, without treatment, she will have just four to six months to live. Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, she said she won't let cancer control how she lives her life.

The 33-year-old said: "I want to defy the odds and I will, and I believe that. I will be in control of my living and how I live. I'm not going to let cancer control how I live my life. I don't want to be at home in bed, unable to do things. I want to do everything I possibly can to see my kids grow up."
Jenna, from Mossley Hill, started hormone therapy injections in the hope they would slow down the development of the cancer, but was struck down with terrible side effects.
She said: "I had an inflamed liver, diaphragm and stomach. I'd lost nearly a stone in three weeks. Basically, the treatment is not working. I found out only last week. They offered me more chemotherapy - but if I didn't take any treatment, the prognosis would have been four to six months."
She added that she is currently taking a break from treatment as she decides what is best

Bing be any more important to “Friends”? “Friends” was the biggest show in the world when it aired from 1994-2004 (and, to this day, it’s still a hit on streaming services). It wouldn’t have been the same without Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), who managed to be the heart, soul and sarcastic funny bone of the show. On Saturday, Perry tragically died at age 54, reportedly by drowning in a hot tub at his California home.

On the heels of the wonderful 2019 The Two Popes, in which Anthony Hopkins starred as Pope Benedict XVI in an imagined conversation with Jonathan Pryce’s future Pope Francis, Hopkins is once again involved in the same kind of cinematic historical fictional meeting as founder of psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud, who is engaged in a private debate with The Chronicles of Narnia author and theologian C.S. Lewis (played by Matthew Goode) on the existence of God. As with The Two Popes, there is no proof whatsoever that any meeting ever took place, but it clearly provides lots of material to wrap your head around. That is exactly what Mark St. Germain did in creating his 2009 play Freud’s Last Session, which was built on the 1967 Harvard lectures of Dr. Armond M. Nicholi Jr in his presentation “The Question of God: C.S. Lewis and Sigmund Freud Debate God, Love, Sex, and the Meaning of Life.”

Enter Shikari have called for solidarity and progress in securing the future of the UK’s grassroots music venues – urging fans and gig spaces to “show the Tory government and the landlord c**ts that our culture of live music is not for sale”.The band were speaking at last week’s Venues Day held by the Music Venue Trust in London, where they received the Outstanding Contribution Award for donating £1 from every ticket sold on their upcoming UK and Ireland arena tour back to the cause of saving grassroots gig spaces. The news came as it was revealed that the UK is set to lose 10 per cent of its grassroots music venues in 2023 – with calls growing for the “major leagues” of the music industry and larger venues to do more to pay into the ecosystem and save them.Giving the opening speech at Venues Day last week, drummer Rob Rolfe explained how Enter Shikari were “no strangers to grassroots music venues” and were even playing a key role in restoring The Pioneer Club in their hometown of St Albans.“Grassroots venues helped us cut our teeth, hone our craft, meet and be inspired by other musicians, and how to be a proper touring band,” said Rolfe. “It was also the platform to help us reach an audience and build our own fanbase.“It is guaranteed that we would not be where we are today in our career, without grassroots venues – which is why it was a no-brainer for £1 of each ticket from our biggest shows to go to support small venues.

Clayton Davis Senior Awards Editor SAG-AFTRA may still be on strike, but studios are, nevertheless, pushing their Oscar contenders to garner the adequate (and allowed) attention they need to land nominations. One of the main methods is getting industry voters out to screenings and making films available on the Academy Screening Room and BAFTA screening platforms.

Matthew Vaughn is opening up about one of the reasons he had for quitting directing X-Men: The Last Stand. The director revealed during New York Comic Con he left the film after finding out a scheme to get Halle Berry to sign on to reprise her role of Storm by tricking her with a fake script.
Zack Sharf Digital News Director Before Matthew Vaughn earned critical acclaim for rebooting the “X-Men” movie franchise with 2011’s “X-Men: First Class,” he was courted to replace Bryan Singer as the director of 2006’s “X-Men: The Last Stand.” That tentpole served as the third film in the storyline led by Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, but Vaughn recently revealed at New York City Comic-Con (via ScreenRant) that he rejected the offer to direct the sequel after discovering a studio executive’s plan to deceive Halle Berry into reprising her role as Storm. “One of the main reasons I quit ‘X-Men 3,’ and this is a true story,” Vaughn said. “I went to an executive’s office and I saw an ‘X3’ script.
